Pediatric Pelvic Issues

A Message From Katy Rush, Owner & Founder of The Perfect Pelvis

The causes of incontinence in children are often very different than what causes incontinence in adults. While adults have often been continent at one point in their lives, and then later became incontinent because of various reasons, children may never have been fully continent. Children may have either urinary or fecal incontinence during the daytime, but nighttime incontinence (bedwetting) is most common.

One study found that 33% of 5-years-olds, 18% of 8-years-olds, 7% of 11-years-olds, and 0.7% of 17-years-olds had nocturnal enuresis or bedwetting. Bed wetting is more common in boys, and in children with behavior disorders. While many children will eventually grow out of this, others need a little extra help.

Children who are at least 6 years of age and who have already been to a physician to screen for medical causes of incontinence such as bladder infections, may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy.

At The Perfect Pelvis, help for these conditions may include:

If your child is embarrassed to go to a sleep over, or worried someone at school might find out, don’t wait any longer.

The Perfect Pelvis can help.

Many kids with leakage issues  suffer unnecessarily because they’re told…

The Truth Is...

At The Perfect Pelvis, We help kids get rid of daytime leakage and bedwetting without pills, pads, alarms or surgery

You must choose the right provider for your health. If you don’t, you could end up getting surgery (when it could have been avoided), being dependent upon medications  or living with steadily worsening symptoms the rest of your life.

Getting the “least-invasive”, most natural treatment is VITAL to you stopping your leakage or pain issues and keep them from coming back.
Working with a provider who understands that the entire body works together is vital to your recovery. Our bodies go through incredible changes throughout our lives. We must address the changes in the neck/back/diaphragm/core/pelvic floor/pelvis, posture, strength and how we’re using our bodies to fully recover. It’s much, much more than just Kegels!

To ensure a full recovery, we have to not just treat the symptoms. You must have an expert provider who is willing to get to the ROOT CAUSE of your symptoms and dysfunction. That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT solution to your child’s  problems.

At The Perfect Pelvis we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your symptoms AND make sure you don’t have to deal with them ever again.

Step #1 - We Want To Listen To Your Story

Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”

Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to learn what goals are important to you, or to work with you one-on-one. That’s why we operate so differently!

And that’s why our first step is to listen to your story.

After successfully working with many kids with bedwetting issues, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain and symptoms.

That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.

Step #2 - FIND OUT WHY YOUR SYMPTOMS STARTED

Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.
Perhaps you’ve been given the label of Eneuresis, “giggle” incontinence or just pelvic pain

You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, take medicine, or give it time.

Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.

Every person’s cause of pain or symptoms is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.

Our goal at The Perfect Pelvis is to find that original cause of your problem (or your child’s problem) so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!

We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if Integrative Physical Therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a low cost Screening/Discovery Visit.

Our Discovery Visits are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Discovery Visit, you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!

Step #3 - GET RID OF THE PROBLEM & KEEP IT FROM COMING BACK

This is when the big transformations occur. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…

…get back to sleeping all night without worrying about needing a pull up or leakage

…Continue doing all activities- even running and jumping without being worried about leakage.

Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active life. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)

Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?

You don’t have to sacrifice the activities & family lifestyle you love over problems that can be fixed.

“I’m so happy I found the perfect pelvis. It ended up being the absolute best choice for my physical therapy. Willing to help me with my insurance more than the physical therapists associated with a local hospital. Reasonably priced- especially when compared to the other “quote” I recieved. I feel like I have been set up for success after my treatment.”
