March is endometriosis awareness month. It is estimated that 1 in 10 women have this condition but many are un-diagnosed. When the lining of the uterus implants in other areas of the pelvis, it can cause pelvic pain, extreme period pain, painful intercourse, painful bowel movements and infertility. The only way to get rid of this disease is with an excision surgery by a surgeon that specializes in this condition. However, physical therapy is often prescribed as an adjunct to treat the pelvic pain associated with this condition. If you have this or know someone who does, feel free to contact me for more information.
