Hi, I’m Katy

Hey, guys! I haven’t introduced myself in awhile, so thought I would update all of you who I haven’t met in person.

My name is Katherine, but everyone calls me Katy. I’ve been a physical therapist since 1998 – I graduated when I was ten. 😉 And since 2003, I have specialized in pelvic health.

It wasn’t until I had my own kids (I have 4) that I realized how incredibly needed this specialty is. I was really surprised about how little medical care is given to a mama after having a baby. The U.S. standard of care places emphasis on caring for the baby, not for the mama.

This focus leaves mom to heal from major abdominal surgery, tearing, dealing with postpartum hormones AND taking care of a baby. That can lead to incomplete healing, pain with intercourse, mismanagement of prolapse, incontinence, and lower back pain due to diastasis recti, etc. Dealing with these issues may prevent mom from being as active as she wants to be.

I wanted to change that. I wanted to support the healing for mom – even if it’s been 30 years – because moms need a safe, calm space to really be able to focus on themselves.

That’s a big part of the reason I started The Perfect Pelvis. To create a  healing environment to treat pelvic issues. Most women can heal…without surgery, a need for pads or pain meds.

Questions? Give me a call or message me. I’m always happy to chat. 😊
